So Who Is Z, Anyway?

Z is the pen name of our daughter, Z. She's our muse, our lead product tester, and our oblivious slave driver. As Z grows, she will begin contributing to Z Recommends and to ZRecs in increasingly interesting ways, whether that be through writing, photography, programming, or whatever else floats her boat. We are on the road to producing the first true "family" blog on the web, raising our child in "real life" while we give her a real education online. Just watch.

And the rest of you?

ZRecs was founded by Jeremiah and Jennifer McNichols, who are obsessive product appraisers, invested online community members, occasional consumer crusaders, and tireless blog enthusiasts. The ZRecs family now includes freelance reviewers in Seattle, Houston, and Washington, D.C., as well as the Z Recommends Working Group, a rotating panel of parents and readers who advise us in the development of our blog and other ZRecs projects.

Scope of ZRecs

Current projects include:

• Z Recommends, a daily parenting and product review blog
• Toyinstructions, a user-edited wiki of links to children's toy and game instructions, guides, user groups, fan sites, and DIY projects
• PRIZEY, a selective directory of online giveaways of particular interest to parents, and host of major giveaway promotions aimed at our parent readers
