What distinguishes Danny Purtill from many other decorative painters
is his initial training in preparing surfaces for a decorative finish.
Much is owed to his initial apprenticeship with Philip Massey in
London. Understanding what is required from a project's inception
and following it through to the decorative effects phase, the artist
was always taught that anything less than perfection was unacceptable,
and he projects these same ethics in his current work. The artist
continues to build on his repertoire of techniques and training,
including most recently courses in figurative painting and fresco.
